Sigils, Singles and Album Art: The Designs Explained

· Style & Merch

Every Amaranthe design in our shop starts with something from our world: a symbol, an album or a single. Here's what is on each one, and where it comes from.

What is the A sigil?

It's our angular A, with sharp spikes and a curled base, and it turns up in almost every design. It comes four ways:

  • Sigil: the bold white A above the spaced name, nothing else.
  • Circle Logo: the white wordmark across a grey sigil, framed by spiral linework.
  • Silver Sigil: the wordmark on the chest and the full sigil on the back.
  • Gold Box Logo: AMA / RAN / THE stacked in a gold frame on the front, the gold sigil on the back.

Which albums and singles are on the designs?

  • The Catalyst: a pale biomechanical figure wired to machinery, with the title of our 2024 album below.
  • Crystalline: a blue crystal heart over the song title, spelled forwards and mirrored. "Crystalline" is the duet of Elize Ryd and Nils Molin from Manifest (2020).
  • PvP: a golden V around a glowing A and six figures on a road. "PvP" came out in December 2021 as the anthem of the Swedish e-sports world cup team.
  • Boom: giant retro game lettering over the band fighting through zombies and flames. If you know "Boom!1", the 2020 single from Manifest, you'll know the mood.

And the red one?

Red Betta is an artwork: a woman's face hidden behind flowing red betta fish, in red, black and grey. Dramatic and cinematic, like the music.

Which one should you pick?

Tip: for a quiet look, take a logo design. For something people ask about, take the artwork or Boom. The two-sided designs show their best side when you walk away.
